Nobody warned me that walking in ski boots would be sooo hard to do?! I'm talking about before anyone even strapped the skis to my feet!

But you all know that I'm a magpie, and I had to take a photograph of the shiny shoes!

I think the apres-ski 'vin chaud' more than made up for it though. Who said mulled wine is just for Christmas?!

Chamonix town was absolutely gorgeous, and I kept having to stop, spin around and say "ooh look at the mountains!". I'm pretty gutted that I didn't get many photographs, but that's because my time was split between skiing, drinking or...erm...sliding down toboggan runs on binbags. After our late night 'plastic bag sledging' incident I added a very bruised bottom to my list of ailments (I'd already got a black eye the night before!). But if any bruises were ever worth it...!
I've come home feeling distinctly different. I'm completely re-evaluating my life at the moment. Am I doing what I want to be doing? Have I been putting too much importance in the wrong things? What can I change here to make it more like the life I'm looking for? So many questions, so few answers. But I'm taking more chances already, saying 'yes' to scary prospects and so far, so good. My
year of new things is already happening and looks set to bring some new possibilities. Watch this space!!

ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fab trip away and much needed space to get away and have some fun. I would love to try skiing one day; I would be a total scaredy cat though I just know I would! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing!!! I went skiing in a snow dome once, the boots were soooo uncomfortable the only thing I wanted to do was burn them!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had an amazing time. I went to Hungary for a week a few years ago. Spent the first two days on my butt then gave up and spent the rest of the holiday getting the best honey massages ever!
ReplyDeleteLive for the NOW!!!
