I don't know about where you are but although the weather here has been cold this weekend, the sun has been absolutely glorious! I know I keep saying it, but there's definitely a Spring vibe going on around here.
I went out with a group of the ladies from work last night and after an 'incident' out on the town I decided I didn't want to stay home alone last night. I won't go into details, but I'm glad I was sober and able to drive to my parent's house! Especially since Daddy BB made me a giant cup of builder's tea and scrambled egg for my breakfast...you can't beat a bit of being looked after, can you?
Mummy BB visited my Nanna yesterday and came home with lots of lovely bits, including a box of fabulously colourful crochet cotton for me. Perhaps this is the excuse I need to learn! Can anyone recommend any tutorials for an absolutely cack-handed beginner?
In typical Bibbitybob fashion, as soon as I emptied my home office for the Cox & King's blogger challenge, I started to feel creative. So this morning I set up studio in my kitchen...as you do! I found this tapestry that Mummy BB sewed for me when I was a teeny tiny ballet dancing girl. It used to be on my bedroom wall, and I found it lurking in the back of an old frame during a clear out a month or so back.
So with a bit of polka dot prettiness and various trims, I've made myself a sentimental new cushion for my sofa. What do you think?
The rest of this week is likely to be filled with all the boring DIYness that comes with decorating a new room. I can't wait until I can start to put some pretties in there and share more exciting things with you.

But what better way to end a lovely weekend with Sunday dinner complete with home grown sprouts & cabbage (and of course, on a cheery flowery plate!). Happy Sunday, everyone!
The ballet girl makes a lovely cushion, you've given it new life and can enjoy it again. No advice on crochet - I don't seem to be getting any better at it!

I'm swooning over your crochet cotton. You lucky duckie. Not sure it would be easy for a beginner to use as it would be fiddly on a small needle.
ReplyDeleteDo You Mind If I knit blog has good tutorials on the basic stitches. Go have a peep!

Gosh I love your pillow, what a clever repurposing of something precious! Also, if you don't decide to crochet, maybe consider machine embroidery -those heavier threads on the bobbin (reduce the tension a whole lot) and then free form machine on teh bak, looks amazing. Or if you have a cording foot (has a hole in the front for the thread to go through) and zig zag it on in free form. Look amazing too! xo
ReplyDeleteI used the stitch and bitch happy hooker book to learn crochet, not only funny but great to learn from too :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew how to sew! Love the cushions. X
